2. Purposes and legal bases of processing
We process personal data to provide our website, to handle enquiries, to conclude and perform contracts, to provide the customer account, to process payments and to fulfil legal obligations. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract), Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).
3. Provision of the website
Our website is operated on our own servers in the European Union.
To deliver our website securely and with high performance, we use the content delivery and security network of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. For technical reasons, connection data, in particular the IP address, must be transmitted to Cloudflare, as the service cannot function otherwise. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in security and availability).
Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Should this certification cease to apply, the transfer takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR. Further information: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
Server log files: When you access our website, your browser technically necessarily transmits access data, in particular the IP address, the type and version of the browser, the date and time of access and the previously visited page (referrer). This data is processed exclusively for the secure and stable delivery of the website and is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in security and functionality).
4. Cookies
This website does not use any cookies.
5. Statistical analysis of website usage
We use Plausible Analytics on our own infrastructure to analyse the use of our website statistically. No cookies are set, no cross-device profiles are created and no personal data is stored.
To compile these statistics, the IP address of the visit is processed briefly, but it is neither stored nor used to identify individual persons. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a needs-based and economical design of our online offering).
6. Contact enquiries
If you contact us by email or via a contact form, we process the data you submit in order to handle your enquiry. The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
7. Customer account and contract processing
To use our services, we process the data required for setting up and using the customer account and for performing the contract. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
8. Payment processing
Payments are processed via the payment service provider Stripe. The data required for this is transmitted directly to Stripe and processed there. We do not store complete payment details. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
In this context, personal data may be transferred to third countries outside the European Union, including the USA. The transfer takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR. You can find further information in Stripe's privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy.
9. Storage period
We store personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purposes. Where statutory retention periods exist, we store the data for the duration of the respective period.
10. Affiliate links
We participate in the Amazon affiliate programme. In this context, we have placed links on our website that lead to the provider's offering. If you make a purchase via such a link, we receive a commission. This does not result in any additional costs for you.
The affiliate links are designed as plain references. No cookies are set on our website in this context and no personal data is transmitted to Amazon. Only when you click on such a link and are redirected to Amazon can Amazon process data and set cookies there in order to attribute the purchase to our recommendation. Amazon is independently responsible for this. We ourselves receive exclusively anonymised, statistical accounting data and no information about individual persons. The legal basis for including the links is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in financing our services).
11. Your rights
You have the following rights in relation to us:
- Right of access: You can ask at any time whether and which personal data we have stored about you.
- Right to rectification: If your data is incorrect or incomplete, you can request its correction or completion.
- Right to erasure: You can request the erasure of your data. In some cases, a statutory or contractual retention obligation prevents this, so that immediate erasure is not possible.
- Right to restriction of processing: If you dispute the accuracy of your data or consider the processing unlawful, you can request that we temporarily restrict the processing.
- Right to data portability: You can request that we provide you with your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, transmit it directly to another provider.
- Right to object: You can object to the processing of your data at any time, provided that there are no compelling legitimate grounds to the contrary.
- Right not to be subject to automated decisions: We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing. Otherwise, you would have the right not to be assessed solely on the basis of an algorithmic evaluation.
To exercise your rights, please contact: [email protected].
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. However, we would be glad if you first contacted our support team with your concern. In most cases, a quick and amicable solution can be found this way, without the need for a supervisory authority.
12. Obligation to provide data
The provision of personal data is necessary for handling enquiries and for concluding and performing contracts. Without this data, we cannot provide the respective service.
13. Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy if the legal framework or our services change. The current version available on this page applies in each case.
