Stream to Twitch and YouTube at the same time
Very easy with our multistreaming service

Can’t decide whether you want to stream on Twitch or on YouTube? With our multistreaming service, you don’t have to. Just stream on Twitch and YouTube at the same time and expand your reach.

How to stream on Twitch and YouTube at the same time?

Usually, streaming software or hardware allows you to specify only one destination to stream to. If you have the option to specify any RTMP destination (consisting of RTMP URL and stream key) in your streaming solution, you can use our multistreaming service to stream to Twitch and YouTube at the same time. In this case, you first stream to our servers, which then forward the signal 1:1 in parallel to your desired platforms. In total, you can send your stream to up to 10 platforms at the same time with our service.

After your booking, you will get access to our customer portal, where you can enter the RTMP URLs of Twitch and YouTube including your individual stream keys.

In addition, you simply store the RTMP URL including the stream key specified in the customer portal as the destination in your streaming solution. As soon as you start your stream in your streaming solution, we forward your signal to Twitch and YouTube (and any other platforms).

Why stream on Twitch and YouTube at the same time?

Especially as a streaming beginner, you inevitably have to deal with the question of which platform you want to stream on at all. Since Twitch and YouTube work differently and also address different target groups, the decision can be very difficult.

Twitch became known in particular for the live broadcasting of video games and has since become the largest live streaming platform in the world. Even though the eSports category is still predominant on Twitch, the streams increasingly revolve around topics such as travel, food & drink, music, art or science & technology. As a beginner, it is quite difficult to generate viewers on Twitch. Live streams are sorted by categories and either recommended streams or those with many viewers are displayed first. Nevertheless, it is basically easier to be found with your live stream on Twitch, as this platform is only focused on live streaming. If you look for a good niche with few parallel streams, you have a good chance of being found.

YouTube, on the other hand, is primarily focused on video on demand (VoD) and also offers the option of live streaming. While the topic of eSports is predominant on Twitch, the variety of topics on YouTube is much greater. Basically, it can be said that live streams are more difficult to find on YouTube than on Twitch, as the platform is mainly focused on videos. To generate a large reach on YouTube, it is helpful to regularly upload additional videos to your own channel.

If you can’t decide between the two platforms, it’s a good idea to stream on Twitch and YouTube at the same time. This gives you the opportunity to address different target groups and thus reach a larger audience. You don’t have to do more work at first, because you simply stream the same content in parallel with our multistreaming service.

Is it allowed to stream on Twitch and YouTube at the same time?

Before you stream on Twitch and YouTube, it’s important to question whether this is even allowed at the same time. As is often the case, the answer is: it depends.

In principle, it is allowed to stream on Twitch and YouTube at the same time. However, if you are a Twitch affiliate, you should refrain from streaming on YouTube or any other platform at the same time. The reason is that otherwise you would violate the Twitch Affiliate Agreement. This agreement states that your Twitch live content may only be shown exclusively on Twitch for up to 24 hours after the end of the stream. Only after the expiration of 24 hours after the end of your stream, you are entitled to make your content available to your viewers elsewhere.

The challenge of streaming on Twitch and YouTube at the same time

Technically, with our multistreaming service, it’s not a challenge to stream on Twitch and YouTube at the same time. However, you should be aware that your viewers want to interact with you and therefore you need to manage multiple chats at the same time. Especially as a beginner or if your community is not yet huge, this is still easy to coordinate. However, as your audience grows, the task can become very complex.
